Artists go through phases of painting in the same medium for a few years, then they find an image that does not work so they try another medium which they get to like and stay with it for a few more years. I worked in watercolours over a ten year period from 1996 onwards, then drifted back into oils, then acrylics and the occasional flurry with pastels.
