Modern and contemporary figurative paintings show John’s Scottish models, and some from China, draped and some nude as they pose in the studio, garden, on the beach and in bedroom. Scottish models are also captured in the Romantic Paintings page and are present in his Lady in Red series exploring life around Dundee, the City of Discovery.
John uses acrylic, watercolour, pastel and oil paints for his painting mediums, and is also happy to accept private commissions for pets, people, holidays, figurative paintings and any other topic.

“Warm Light” acrylic, 7 × 11 inches
Warm Light is a figure study with a Scottish model painted in acrylic. Paint was applied loosely to keep the style modern and spotlights on the model kept the tones warm. The model wore drapes in shades of blue.
